The #Apollo11 Moon landing was a true nationwide effort, with hundreds of thousands of Americans across every state contributing. After all, when President Kennedy committed the U.S. to “landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth,” it wasn’t a call to individual action, it was a challenge to a nation. And the Washington Monument, which features an American flag for each state around its base, is the perfect place to honor this incredible group achievement. 🇺🇸
