It's all about the strawberry jam... It's how it hits the palate when you eat an open half Scone..a schmear of cream, and a dollop of strawberry jam_let's treat it with the respect it deserves..f o r g e t the hamburger principle!!!??.... You can only fit so much in your mouth!

Personally I prefer jam first, you can achieve a nice even spread that goes right to the edges, then the cream is easily spread on top. I enjoy having the sweetness burst on my tongue first then feeling it reigned in by the mild flavour of the cream.

Cream first! It allows the jam to sit nicely on top, and when you bite into your scone, you get hit with rhe rush of sugar but then the smoothness and richness of the cream is like a balm on your tongue. Perfect marriage!

ك طعم المربى اول .. بعدها الكريمه .. عشان وقت التذوق تخش الكريمه تجهز اللسان بكل اريحيه للمربى .. زي لما نغز التمر في القشطه .. تاكل الكريمه بعدها التمر يحلي لسانك .. ??

If you was having a scone with butter and jam, you wouldn’t put the butter on top of the jam so why would you do it with cream? ? defo cream first for me.

cream first! but other question: why is there no clotted cream being sold in europe, except for the uk? it is sooo good and it‘s not available here ??
