Plastic Free July has officially arrived!
What will you pledge this month to reduce your single-use plastic footprint?

Here at Taronga, we have taken some bold steps to eliminate single-use plastics across our zoos. We have removed plastic items such as food containers, plastic cutlery, bags, straws, coffee cups, sauce sachets, soft drinks, PET bottles and lastly balloons.
In total, we have recycled over 2 million containers to date through our onsite 'Return and Earn' reverse vending machines allowing our guests and the local community to redeem reliable container and help divert them from landfill.
But our mission does not stop here! We are actively working to eliminate more single-use plastics from our operations and divert resources from landfill. Through the weekly beach, bush and street clean-ups we run, we get our hands dirty to keep our local environment clean and free of litter for wildlife and people.

kaz_edwards_artist I am planning a visit this month so if I bring my own picnic set but buy my food at the zoo, can I ask for it to be served directly onto my plate & cup??? Maybe you could sell Taronga souvenir picnic set (individual setting in pack or with purchase of food with a zip lock bag that the dirty picnic set goes into to be taken home & washed) customers get a discount if they use it again st Taronga or any affiliated zoo
