The results are clear: California is one of the worst places to go if you're looking to buy your first home, according to a new study.
The study from Bankrate evaluated the 50 largest metro areas in the U.S. using criteria such as affordability, culture, job market and safety.
While California does shine in weather, 6 Golden State cities landed in the bottom 10 metro areas. San Francisco was ranked the worst because of its high home prices, market tightness and safety concerns.
If you’re ready to buy your first home, consider Pittsburgh. The Pennsylvania city set itself apart to claim the top spot for its affordability and safety.
