@pamnasr and @_gogito's love story feels like a millennial version of the film Before Sunrise. Esparza was traveling to Beirut to shoot a documentary about youth culture and hoped to find a friend on the ground. He was introduced to Nasr by a mutual Instagram friend. “She was so giving and generous, not just with recommendations, but also taking us places,” says Esparza. “And putting us in touch with people who gave us access to neighborhoods. Coming from the West, as a foreigner, you don’t have that much access.” The two found a mutual attraction, sparked by their love of cultural discovery. Nasr fell for Esparza’s taste in music, as he played DJ on their two-week car trip around Lebanon. “He would always play old school hip-hop from the ’90s that I hadn’t heard in a long time,” she says. ‘The second I heard them, I was like, ‘I’m seriously crushing on this guy.’ ” Esparza realized he was falling for Nasr after watching her reaction to a screening of Belly by Hype Williams. “She had never seen it before,” says Esparza. “She was visually blown away and connected to it.” Tap the link in our bio to read more.
