Photo by @jonathan_irish // Cotton candy skies. Out of 365 days of our big national parks project, I would guess we missed maybe 20 sunsets. That’s a pretty incredible thought. How many times a year are you out in nature that you can fully witness a sunset? Some sunsets were fiery and red with crazy clouds. Some sunsets offered only a smidgen of color. Some sunsets were complete duds and never showed any coloring. And some were like this sky...a beautiful soft pink light that almost makes you want to lie down and bathe in its warm glow. These dunes, in Guadalupe Mountains NP in Texas, were a long drive from our campsite. However, I had seen them from atop the mountains and new I wanted to explore them. With only one opportunity to make the long drive (due to time constraints), I was lucky enough to be rewarded with this beautiful light. Serendipity seemed to strike us a lot on this project, and we were always so thankful for that. Follow me @jonathan_irish for more images like this and around the world.
