Filipino seafarers are explorers in their own right: Seasoned seafarers have endless stories spanning oceans and ports across dozens of countries. But they all tell a common tale: of missing home, the Philippines. It is estimated that at least one in four of the world's mariners are Filipino.
I'm sharing images from my first assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック magazine, written by @aurora_alm. This image didn't make it to print story in the December issue, but it's very close to my heart. It reminds me of the hard work that keeps my country afloat.
