My dear friend and her 8 year old daughter, Ruby are in NYC at the moment for the first time. Rubes has been saving up all her pocket money to buy something special in New York. Yesterday she called me very excited to tell me she had bought a camera, because she wants to be a photographer when she grows up. She asked me if she could take my photo. I said I would be honoured, and asked her what I should wear for the shoot. “Black, or whatever you want,” she said, “or black”. So I wore black. ⠀

When I arrived she said “Aunty Samantha! You look like you’re going to drama club!”⠀
I told her my day rate would go up if she kept that up, so she ushered me over to a seat and told me to “work it darling, work it!” As she snapped away. ?⠀

The drama club jibe aside, she was an easy photographer to work with and provided great on set catering, and before I knew it, she called “that’s a wrap!” After which we sat and ate her haul from Dylan’s Candy Bar and the M&M store, talked about all the fun things she did in New York on her trip so far, and called it a day. ⠀
