Did you know—the curved space adjacent to the museum’s main rotunda is called the Monitor. In 1958, Frank Lloyd Wright described the Monitor as, “A feature intended for the use of the operating personnel of the museum and for the amenities of people who man it day by day...as well as for the trustees of the museum themselves and their friends. A place, therefore, for social occasions and propaganda.” This image shows the original offices in that space, which have been since moved off-site. Today, this same area is home to the museum's Cafe 3 (swipe left for the second photo). #Archtober
