This is a queen yellow-fronted bumblebee at @arochacanada. The yellow-fronted bumble bee is very common species, ranging from southern New Mexico all the way up to central Alaska. Though it is widespread and classified as least concern by IUCN, there are serious conservation concerns for all of our pollinator friends due to the harmful effects of insecticides and neonicotinoids. What can you do to help? Start by eliminating all chemical use on your lawn and encourage your local government to stop using any chemicals on city park land as well. Next, plant native wildflowers in your garden and in public green spaces. Native gardens are beautiful, and they support the pollinators responsible for up to 30% of what we eat! #Pollinatormonday
