Earlier this year I spent a week documenting the work of DVM Odette Doest @vetdoest and her Fundashon Dier en Onderwijs Cariben (FDOC / @fdoccuracao) on the island of #Curaao. This Flamingo came in from Bonaire with severe foot-lesions after spending a few weeks at a local rehab facility. Foot lesions among captive flamingo's are very common as they have very sensitive feet and need to be able to walk on soft ground. Odette treated the bird and made special socks to fit the birds feet and to avoid too much stress on the healing wounds.
