We slept zero hours last night. Like, for real. You can’t tell by this picture because when she smiles her whole being lights up in an outer worldly way but she is sick right now and spent all night awake and sad. I taught this morning and listened to @jamesaspey speak at the studio and we filmed this weeks YouTube video and I made banana bread and edited what felt like a thousand pages of content and now I put moon baby to bed and she is beside herself. Somehow if I go in there it gets worse(??) and if we put her in our bed she freaks out(???) and nothing works so I know my only option is to sit here and breathe. It will last for 2 minutes, max. As I wrote that - max - she settled down and now she’s quiet. Hearing her cry, even if for just a minute, hurts deep in the center of my soul. ⁣

Today we talked about veganism for so long and I always try to not listen when it gets to the bad and the painful. Did you know that chickens sing to their babies? And that baby boy chicks get thrown in a shredder alive as soon as they are born, because they are seen as a waste product? Mama cows are pregnant for 9 months, just like humans. They cry for their babies when they are taken away and after it’s happened once, they birth in terror, knowing they won’t get to keep their baby calf. For every carton of dairy milk and cheese and ice cream we consume there is a momma looking for her baby. A baby torn from her mom. ⁣

Pigs say over 80 different things to each other. They speak. Like us. They’re the third smartest animal on the planet - more intelligent and more compassionate than dogs. Fish feel pain more acutely than humans do. ⁣

WE ALL WANT TO LIVE. Every being, human or animal, wants to live. We can argue all we want but this is a fact. Nobody wants to die. Nobody wants to suffer. I think about this when my baby cries, wondering how many babies are out there crying out for help in this very second, knowing no one is coming for them. ⁣

I can’t close my eyes to what my heart tells me is so true: I don’t want to take part in this suffering ever again. Vegan video coming soon?❤️ #love
