Baby goats born last spring are growing fast at this family-run farm in the Western Catskills, a region with a long history of dairy farming. New York state is the third largest dairy producing state in the country, but these days small dairy farms like this one are a pretty rare sight. While driving back to New York City after a weekend in the country, we noticed an interesting looking farm on the left and stopped to take a closer look. I’m glad we did, because soon enough we were helping farmers Manley and his grandson Nathan feed the “kids.”
