22年前の夏、『萌の朱雀』の撮影監督は田村正毅さん56歳。監督の私は26歳。スタッフ平均年齢が28歳。女優尾野真千子が誕生し、カンヌの新人監督賞を史上最年少日本人初の受賞。田村さんがいたから『萌の朱雀』がこの世に誕生したと言っても過言じゃない。時に厳しく時に包みこむような表現に対する姿勢によって若いスタッフが支えられていた。田村正毅さんご逝去に際し、慎んでご冥福をお祈りいたします。そして、今一度『創る』とは何かを己に問うてみる。
