Photo by @CarltonWard // Summer thunderstorms are starting to roll across the Florida peninsula. I recently photographed Biscayne National Park, near Miami, for @National Geographic Travel. I was using my small boat to line up views juxtaposing historic stilt houses with the skyline of Florida’s most populous city (see @carltonward for a photo). A wall of dark clouds had built over the Everglades and was racing across the bay. As we motored to the nearest stilt house to take shelter, this couple on their paddleboard was doing the same thing, giving me a great subject to frame against dramatic weather bearing down on us. The rain hit hard but lasted just a half hour. #BiscayneBay #Florida #FloridaWild #Storm @BiscayneNPS with @alexofthewild.
