After driving 18hrs from California to Colorado, I needed to move around. @james_lucas was psyched on Mt. Evans in spite of the ?? forecast so we hiked out for our first day in the alpine.

Compared to humping 100lb loads to and from Middle Cathedral, the Evans hike seemed like a stroll. But Middle isn’t at 12,000ft elevation ? Six days on a big wall, driving cross-country, and hiking at altitude caught up to me. I teetered up one of my favorite highballs and called it good ?

The rain held off for awhile before sprinkling us out in the afternoon. Despite my altitude headache, I felt rejuvenated. Alpine season is just getting started and there are so many goals to work towards!! ☀️☀️ #MtEvans #colorado #climbing @adidasterrex
