Once you're done looking at these ridiculous blossoms, I want to tell you a little something you may not know. (Those who do know, feel free to go back to looking at the blossoms). So. That list you have of Instagram activity? The one that tells you if someone's liked a photo, left a comment, replied to a comment, etc. that appears when you click the little heart? Well, it moves REALLY fast if you've got a lot of followers. And since it only shows the 100 most recent, any other activity on your account has to basically be stumbled upon. Just by chance. For example, sometimes I'll wander back through my photos, like flipping back through a diary, and I'll see that someone asked a really sweet question on an ancient photo. And they left it FIVE MONTHS AGO. But I'm just seeing it now. "Noooooo!" I think. "They must assume I just flat-out ignored them!" But I didn't. Or at least, I didn't mean to. It just disappeared into the Instagram activity abyss. And now, with the new comments format, even keeping track of replies on current photos is a beast. It's not only tedious, having to scour each comment thread, again and again, for replies. It's prohibitively time-consuming. So all that to say, PLEASE: Leave your comments. Contribute to the greater community. Find new people to follow and make new friends. For the first few hours after posting something new, I do check back regularly, and I can kinda sorta almost keep up. But if you're waiting for a reply and you don't get one, just shoot me a message. Easy peasy. And never, ever think that I'm intentionally ignoring you. (Unless you're acting like a jerk. Then yes. I am 100% intentionally ignoring you.) Now back to those blossoms! ?
