For #EarthDay, we're taking another look at this work by @violet_dennison, currently on view in our #2018Triennial.
The installation is made from seagrass, which washed ashore in the Florida Keys after noxious algal blooms blocked the sunlight it needed to grow—causing the seagrass to slowly suffocate. The dead seagrass is just one symptom of an unhealthy ecosystem, caused by pollution and climate change.
