Gagosian congratulates Richard Serra, who will be awarded one of this year's J. Paul Getty Medal, to be presented on September 24 at the Getty Center in Los Angeles.

The Getty Medal honors extraordinary contributions to the practice, understanding, and support of the arts. Serra was chosen for this award for creating works that “transform our ideas about sculpture itself."
