This is Mozart’s “Queen of the Night” translated into color. It’s very yellow and vibrant because the piece contains so many different frequencies. Artist Neil Harbisson was born with a rare condition called achromatopsia, which is total color blindness, so he created a device (he calls it an eyeborg) that attaches to his head and allows him to turn color into audible frequencies. This has transformed the way he engages with the world, allowing him to actually listen to faces and paintings. Just wait until you see the visual difference between Martin Luther King’s “I Have A Dream” and a speech by Hitler. To check it out, watch his #TEDTalk at go.ted.com/hearcolor
