Photograph by David Chancellor @chancellordavid in the Ballochbuie forest, working on landscapes in this extraordinary Caledonian woodland wonderland. The Ballochbuie Forest is one of the largest remaining areas of old Caledonian pine growth in Scotland, consisting of approximately 3,000 acres, it is managed with only minimal or no intervention. Bird species inhabiting the surrounding moorlands include red grouse, black grouse, ptarmigan, and the capercaillie. Principal mammal being the red deer. It's a very very special place.
