It’s Christmas Eve, which means Santa’s reindeer are getting ready for their one-night journey across the world! This reindeer wasn’t photographed at the North Pole, but rather at @MillerParkZoo in Illinois. These creatures are truly built for the cold, with noses that warm the air they breathe before it hits their lungs and double-lined fur that allows them to regulate their core temperature no matter what the weather is. Both males and females develop antlers, which can grow up to 51 inches (130 cm) and are the largest and heaviest of any living deer species.
