Yoga is not about the “it” girls.

Yoga is not a club only some people can fit into because they’re born into a privileged body.

Yoga is not about stealing, intimidating, bullying, or monopolizing.

Yoga is not a corporate ploy to meet a billion dollar bottom line.

Yoga is a practice. It is often quiet, solitary, introspective and challenging.

Yoga is a spiritual pursuit based in truthfulness, non-violence, non-stealing, devotion, discipline and humility.

Yoga is about being strong enough to speak up for what’s right even if it costs you something.
_
I’ve been talking a lot lately about what the heart of yoga is because there’s a lot going on behind the scenes that threatens the essence of what this practice is all about. I’m feeling ready to call out the delusion that seems to be spreading like a virus and stand up for what is fair and right and true. The real world of yoga includes all shapes, sizes, colors, and ages. To be a yogi means to embrace the diversity of life with an open heart, to shed light into the darkness and to walk the narrow road of truth. Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is stand your ground.
