1. As the Yumoto area of Oku-Nikko reaches its peak autumn colors, the large Japanese elms (Ulmus davidiana var. Japonica, or ‘harunire’) take on a beautiful yellow hue around the Nikko Yumoto Visitor Center.

2. Even the Japanese silver grass (Miscanthus sinensis, or 'susuki') covering the ground at Senjogahara has turned to gold as autumn takes hold in Oku-Nikko.
