#LouiseBourgeois’s iconic sculptures of spiders range from the size of a brooch to monumental pieces like the installation that currently graces our Marron Atrium. Bourgeois’s spider imagery goes back to the 1940’s, well before they took sculptural form in 1994. “Untitled (Spider and Snake)” is based on her first “Spider” sculpture made from bent steel tubes for legs and a glass jar for the body.
