One of the smallest and most fun to watch members of the rabbit family, the collared pika is a rare find in high alpine regions. If you ever find yourself in the mountains and hear a high pitched squeak coming from large slides of boulders, then it's probably one of these guys! Unlike many other small mammals, pikas will not hibernate in winter, but instead will stash large amounts of grass and vegetations in their den to last throughout the cold months. One of my favorite small animals to watch!
