Today's Google Doodle celebrates the release of the first album by Tejano musician and fashion icon Selena Quintanilla-Pérez. As part of our Hispanic Advertising project, we recently collected examples of Selena as a spokesperson for brands looking to market specifically to Latinos. We recently collected objects from a marketing campaign she worked on for Coca-Cola and photographer Al Rendon.
In addition to this recent collecting, we were excited to discover and share with the world this rare footage of Selena. It was in a TV camera donated to the museum by Univision and hasn't been seen for years. You can view the full clip on our YouTube channel:
