Now in our collection: "The Walking Dead" props and costumes, including this cross bow. It's carried by Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus, a self-proclaimed redneck and survivalist, who shoots walkers with abandon.
The objects from the show, a commercial and critical success, won't be on display right away as we're currently developing our culture exhibition.
Not only do these objects help us explore the art of television but also because "it can help us to better understand the American experience," says Curator Eric Jentsch. Exploring themes such as the dehumanization of modern life, terrorism, climate change, disease, and violence, the show provokes thoughtful and emotional considerations of difficult topics and themes.
