?? Aujourd’hui c’est #VendrediLecture ! ? Voici un détail d’une page d’album provenant des collections du département des Arts de l’Islam. Il s’agit du portrait réalisé par Mir Sayyid Ali (1510-1572) de son père, le peintre Mir Mosavvir (fin du XVe siècle-1555), sous les traits d’un lettré. Ces deux artistes ont travaillé dans des ateliers royaux et orné de nombreux manuscrits par leurs miniatures, dont le célèbre Shah Nameh de Shah Tahmasp, poème épique retraçant l’histoire de l’Iran et un des chefs-d’œuvre de l’art de la miniature persane.

It shows the portrait of painter Mir Musavvir (late 15th century-1555) as a scholar and was painted by his son, Mir Sayyid Ali (1510-1572). These two artists worked in royal workshops and have decorated many manuscripts with miniatures, including the Shahnameh of Shah Tahmasp.
