?? Le mercredi c’est le jour des enfants sur notre compte Instagram ! Voici un dessin représentant un angelot jouant du violon réalisé par Pierre Paul Rubens. Né #CeJourLa en 1577 à Siegen, en Allemagne, Rubens est un artiste baroque flamand majeur du début du XVIIe siècle. De 1600 à 1609, il voyage en Italie et en Espagne avant de rentrer à Anvers. Il y fonde un atelier très productif où se côtoient de nombreux élèves et collaborateurs. En 1622, il est appelé à Paris par la reine de France Marie de Médicis afin de réaliser une galerie à sa gloire, projet qu'il achève en 1625. Il voyage de nouveau en Europe à partir de 1628, et en 1630 il est nommé chevalier par le roi d’Angleterre Charles Ier.  Durant sa carrière et grâce à son atelier, il collabore avec Anton Van Dyck, Pieter van Mol, Jan Van Hoeck, Frans Snyders, Jacob Jordaens, Jan Brueghel, Paul de Vos... pour ne citer que les artistes les plus renommés.

? ENG Wednesday is kids day on our feed! This drawing depicting a cherub playing violin was made by Peter Paul Rubens. Born #OnthisDay in 1577 in Siegen, Germany, Rubens is a major Flemish Baroque artist from the early 17th century. From 1600 to 1609, he traveled in Italy and Spain before going back to Antwerp. There, he founded a very productive art studio where many students and other artists worked together. In 1622, Queen of France Marie de' Medici commissioned him to create a Gallery for the Luxembourg Palace in her honour, which he accomplished in 1625. He travelled again in Europe from 1628, and was knighted by King Charles I of England in 1630. During his career, as a result of his studio, he worked with Anthony van Dyck, Pieter van Mol, Jan Van Hoeck, Frans Snyders, Jacob Jordaens, Jan Brueghel and Paul de Vos, to name only a few of the most famous artists.
