To watch a crevice brittle star move is utterly amazing, like watching a beautiful flower simply get up and walk away. Of all sea stars, these are the quickest and most agile. Crevice brittle stars are named for their habit of nestling themselves in crevices of stones or shells for protection. Usually in the wild you’ll see just the tips of their arms (which are four times the length of their bodies) waving at you from under a rock.
