Thousands of tourists arrive here each day to meet these magnificent creatures that appear hoping for a morsel of squid. This population of stingrays have become ocean ambassadors interacting with people who rarely experience the sea. My sister, a non-swimmer met these rays on a Caribbean cruise and wept with joy as they swirled gently around her, the encounter was a highlight on the cruise and in her life. The rays play a key role education, the ecosystem and the economy.
