How I missed a good weekend on the rock...
After a few weekends in a row of comps and plastic I finally had the chance to spend TWO✌?days outside!
After I got back from the CWIF in Sheffield last monday I knew I needed to skip the next comp in Studiobloc and take it easy for a weekend. I think it was the best decision for keeping the motivation high for the first WC in Meiringen in less than two weeks!...
Back in Sheffield, the comp was good fun, I really loved the qualification round, 30boulders in 3hours with maximum 3 tries each boulder. Super tricky problems and some pretty hard ones.
The Semi was super hard, everybody struggled and most of us didn't have the chance to show their best... By the way it was a great experience sessioning with some of the best and good test for the upcoming WC season.
This last weekend was more chill. I spent two days on the Swiss granite. Saturday in Magic Wood I revisited some classics, did some moderates I've never had the chance to try, tried a really hard one and finished the day with a quick send of Deep Throat, an 8b I almost always tried to avoid, but one of the last I still had to do here...
Sunday the weather didn't seem promising, but we tried our luck in Chironico and eventually we found some dry rocks. After a good warmup me and @luca_bazooka_rinaldi went to try a new 8b from @giuliano_cameroni called Electro Swing. Great little problem with river polished rock and huge moves. After a few tries we both got close. Then all of the sudden Bazoo stuck the crux move and did it. I knew it was good time to send as well with his extra motivation!
So I jumped on the send train and managed to stick the crux as well and calmly made my way to the "slimy" top of the boulder!!Awesome!!
Due to the very fast ascent of both and the not so optimal conditions we think the grade could drop a little bit. 8a+ sounds more appropriate to us but an amazing addition from Giuliano!! Let's see what other people think though!...
