Take a good look at these coins. They're South Korean, and they're about to disappear. ? South Korea plans to kill the coin in a path towards becoming a #cashless society. "We can save a lot of cost by not using cash," said Kim Seong hoon, a researcher at the Korea Economic Research Institute. Coins in particular are expensive. The BoK spends more than $40m a year minting coins, not to mention costs involved for financial institutions that collect, manage and circulate them. South Korea will get rid of the metal by 2020. Could you see the U.S. adopting a similar policy? ?
