Paintings conservator Michael Duffy (@mcdnyc) prepares Francis Picabia’s "Dances at the Spring [II]" (1912) for exhibition by removing a synthetic varnish and excess wax adhesive used in a previous restoration in the 1970s. The painting is one of four Picabia paintings previously thought to have been lost or destroyed during World War I until all four were rediscovered under some bird feeders and an old croquet set in the former home of Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer in Mt. Kisco, New York.
