Photo by @christianziegler on assignment for National Geographic. We stopped here for one night, camping on the shore of the Madre de Dios river at the mouth of the Manu river. The little village here - Boca Manu - serves as a trading station between the inhabitants of Manu National Park and the outside world. This picture is from an expedition to Cocha Cashu biological station in Manu National Park, Peru. Our aim was to document the amazing diversity of animals that visit a fruiting fig tree deep in the Peruvian Amazon.
