It’s Bei Bei’s first birthday today.?? The birthday boy didn’t come out for his cake at this weekend’s @スミソニアン国立動物園 celebration, but his mom Mei Xang and sister Bao Bao took part in the festivities.
Our nutrition team spent two weeks making Bei Bei’s cake, which weighed more than 100 pounds. It included lots of dilute fruit juice, mashed leaf eater biscuits, apple pieces and pear pieces. Mom seemed to really like it.
Bao Bao’s cake was similar, just with more sweet potato and of course a big 3️⃣ for her age. #PandaStory
