This 1906 British biscuit (aka cookie) tin protected treats for travelers on bumpy roads, but also proved to be a valuable marketing tool for the company, Huntley and Palmers. Packaging innovations and the expansion of rail and steamship travel in the British Empire led them to be the world’s biggest biscuit manufacturer at the time. Now the tin belongs to our @cooperhewitt.
