These fish prints hung in Julia Child's kitchen. The famous French chef and educator was shocked when she caught the large bluefish (bottom) during a a fishing trip in Saco Bay, Maine. She had been hoping to catch just a few mackerel. Julia was thrilled to cook the fish in a new way she'd read about and her friends were delighted. But the meal turned out to be a total disaster. Find out why on our blog (link in profile): s.si.edu/JuliasFish

The rock cod (top) was is also displayed in Julia's kitchen, which you can come visit here at the museum. We're still doing research to learn its story! ?? #GoneFishing #SmithsonianFood #FoodHistory #JuliaChild #FishPrint @mainehistory #InTheKitchen #KitchenArt
