“I started the party to DJ. It was 2009, Halloween. I plugged in an iPod and I plugged in a computer. I just wanted to play music, and I put together a really ridiculous playlist. Goth, a little bit of industrial, a little bit of dark rap. It was just ideas and angst and black lipstick, just frustration. It became @GHE20G0TH1K by the second month, and eventually it became a real party, with 150 or 200 people a week in a basement, completely dark, no photos allowed. Residents were me, Shayne [Oliver], Daniel [Fisher] aka Physical Therapy and regular guests Total Freedom, NGUZUNGUZU, Kingdom, House of Ladosha, Mykki Blanco….
