In honor of #NYCPride Week, we are featuring a few works from our collection by LGBTQ+ artists whose creative practices reference this identity and/or experience. #CassBird’s photographs depict, in her words, “lives that resist and create alternatives to the structure of societal norms.” In this and other works, she asserts the beauty and positive existence of genderqueer people, who define their gender and sexuality for themselves.
