Photo by @andywcoleman // There were no females around to impress, but these two young giraffe were practicing the type of fights they would have to establish dominance. After they stood side by side, sizing each other up, they swung their heads in a wide arching angle and hit one another with the hard bony ossicones on the tops of their heads. It doesn't look very fast, but they can inflict a thundering blow that can be heard up to 1 kilometer away. They kept this up for a good 10 minutes before heading off together into the forest. Taken while on safari at the Londolozi Game Reserve near Kruger National Park in South Africa.
