Dwarfed by giant crevasses, two alpinists weave through the upper reaches of France's Mer de Glace. The Brenva face of Mt. Blanc is in the background. This area of the glacier has thinned by approximately 30 meters during the last century; the glacier's terminus has retreated many hundreds of meters. This is the kind of evidence of #climatechange that is the focus of #COP21.
