91/100: trying new things :: congruency & simplifying. It's time to take an honest inventory of my life. And also being honest with myself. And accepting whatever it is that I discover in that truth. Sometimes I'm amazed at how in tune I can be with my heart and then simultaneously ignore it when faced with the little moments throughout each day. Congruence with the truth in my heart and how I live my life as well as what I choose to surround my life with is really important to me. Like cleaning out my closets and letting go of stuff that is just taking up space. Like making a list of what I love, what I'm passionate about and what I want, and comparing notes with how I am currently choosing to live my life and seeing where I need to make adjustments. Being able to say no more to the small stuff and not sweating it. Being able to say yes to the thing that really matters. Allowing the pieces to fall where they will. Not taking it personally. Not worrying about others taking it personally. Whatever "it" is. Ya know. I am going to start a new journal and make use of my stack (read: obsessive collection) of notebooks and flesh out these thoughts in both words and pictures about what all of this means to me and what it looks like. I want to savor this. To go back, re-read and smile at what is in my heart. To accept it and metaphorically fist bump it like YEUHHHH YOU GO GIRL. I wonder how many times we discard, push down and flat out ignore that little whisper in our heart only to become so depleted by all the things we allow to pull at us and come back to that very whisper and hope it is still speaking. And it is. I'd rather honour it the first time around. And for me, the first step is to simplify, declutter, remove myself from some of the (unnecessary) noise. "And every day, the world will drag you by the hand, yelling, “This is important! And this is important! And this is important! You need to worry about this! And this! And this!” And each day, it’s up to you to yank your hand back, put it on your heart and say, “No. This is what’s important."" -Iain Thomas #the100dayproject #100daysofnew #tryingnewthings #simplify #congruence
