Members of the Aquazanies, a troupe of intrepid swimmers, performed in Flushing Meadows, Queens, in August 1951. The show was a regular attraction for years and incorporated such novelties as zebra outfits, ice skating, water ballerinas and a demonstration of log-rolling by a monkey named Herman. This long weekend, we’re taking a dive into the newsroom archive, known as “the morgue,” and sharing photos from summers past. The morgue houses millions of images dating back more than a century — like this one, shot by @ニューヨーク・タイムズ photographer Sam Falk. #archives #nytweekender
