I couldn't resist showing this old photograph of one of the coolest primates, a Gray woolly monkey leaping that I photographed during an expedition in the Brazilian Amazon. The hair-less inside of the tail tip is like the "palm of a hand" and secures the animal while it is climbing. Woolly monkeys spend roughly 19 % of their days eating, 17 % looking for food, 35% moving and leaping, 23% resting, 4,5 % socializing and 1,5% doing whatever according to scientists Di Fiore & Rodman. The main threat to this fascinating species is hunting and deforestation.
