The face of Dieter Weckeiser, killed in 1968 at age 25 while attempting to swim across the River Spree to West Berlin, forms part of a #memorial on #Bernauer Strasse, where a graffiti-covered stretch of the #Wall has been preserved as a reminder of the divided city. Weckeiser was with his wife: 17 shots, both died.
