When I was growing up I was always the loudest, most obnoxious person in the room. When people would tell me that I should change or that I should tone it down, I would always respond with "this is the way I am" and dismiss them.
The truth is that just because we "are" a certain way, doesn't make It right and it sure as hell doesn't mean that we can't change. We are a product of our past. We can either let it define us, or we can use it to influence our better decisions for the future.
Today, I know the power of silence. I know that it's best to listen loudly and speak with substance. I've learned that the loudest person in the room doesn't always have the most to say. I've also learned that change and growth is a choice, and no matter what anyone says or does to sway our decisions the final say is left in our hands.
Change.
Be better than your past.
Be better than you were yesterday.
