These gold earrings once belonged to Pasebakhaienipet, the mayor of Thebes (a major city in Upper Egypt) during the 21st dynasty. He obviously valued them because he took them to the grave! His mummy wore these earrings to ensure he would also wear them in the afterlife. You can now find them on display next to the coffin of Pasebakhaienipet in the #MummyChamber. #BKMEgyptianart
