When you think of Alexander Graham Bell, you might think of the telephone. But he also experimented with early sound recording. His Volta Lab made this one in 1884. We recently worked with partners to gently recover sound from the fragile disk and what does it contain? A male voice saying: "To be, or not to be: that is the question. Whether it is nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and in opposing end them? To die: to sleep."
